Mikveh Guide Training
Mikveh Guide Training -- Timeline and Expectations
Prior to acceptance in the Mikveh Guide training program, you will:
- shadow a current Mikveh Guide (at any time during the application process)
- complete an online application
- participate in a group interview with other prospective Mikveh Guides
Once accepted into the Mikveh Guide Training program you will:
- attend seven training sessions to learn about the history and text sources of mikveh, the many reasons for immersions, supporting immersion guests with sensitivity, logistics of guiding, and more
- be paired and communicate with an experienced Mikveh Guide as a mentor
- shadow a current Mikveh Guide at the conclusion of the training
- act as Mikveh Guide while an experienced Guide is here for support
- serve as a Mikveh Guide 4-6 hours/month
- or serve as a Mikveh Educator 4-6 times/year
Mikveh Guide applications for 2017-2018 are now closed. We anticipate conducting the next Mikveh Guide Training sometime in 2019.
