Mikveh Guide Training -- Timeline and Expectations

Prior to acceptance in the Mikveh Guide training program, you will:

  • shadow a current Mikveh Guide (at any time during the application process)
  • complete an online application 
  • participate in a group interview with other prospective Mikveh Guides

 

Once accepted into the Mikveh Guide Training program you will: 

  • attend seven training sessions to learn about the history and text sources of mikveh, the many reasons for immersions, supporting immersion guests with sensitivity, logistics of guiding, and more
  • be paired and communicate with an experienced Mikveh Guide as a mentor
  • shadow a current Mikveh Guide at the conclusion of the training
  • act as Mikveh Guide while an experienced Guide is here for support
  • serve as a Mikveh Guide 4-6 hours/month
  • or serve as a Mikveh Educator 4-6 times/year

 

Mikveh Guide applications for 2017-2018 are now closed. We anticipate conducting the next Mikveh Guide Training sometime in 2019.
